Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using RootBase ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and RootBase Labs LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), a limited liability company registered in the State of Arkansas.

Description of Service

RootBase is a plant care tracking application that helps you manage watering schedules, care logs, and other plant-related information. The App operates entirely on your device and does not require an account, internet connection, or any form of registration to function.

Use of the App

You may use RootBase for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.

Your Data

All data you create within RootBase — including plant profiles, care logs, photos, and notes — is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your data and cannot recover it if it is lost. You are solely responsible for backing up your device and any data stored within the App.

In-App Purchases

RootBase may offer optional in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. We do not handle payment processing or store financial information.

In-app purchases designated as tips or donations are voluntary, non-refundable, and do not unlock additional functionality. Refund requests for any in-app purchase must be directed to Apple, as we do not have the ability to process refunds.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, icons, and content, is owned by RootBase Labs LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the App beyond the limited license to use it as described here.

Plant Care Disclaimer

RootBase provides scheduling tools, care suggestions, and general plant care information for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any care recommendations. Plant care outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control, including environment, plant health, and user actions. You are solely responsible for the care of your plants. We are not liable for any plant damage, loss, or death that may occur while using the App.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RootBase Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, regardless of the theory of liability. Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Third-Party Services

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App Store is subject to Apple's own terms and conditions. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, without notice or liability.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Benton County, Arkansas.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RootBase Labs LLC regarding your use of the App, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
